J1772 is the long-standing standard AC charging connector — it's what most non-Tesla EVs and the majority of public Level 1/2 chargers in North America use today. It's the safe, universal-compatibility choice.
J3400 is the SAE's official designation for what used to be called Tesla's NACS connector. Tesla opened it up, and it's rapidly becoming the new default — most automakers have adopted it, and it's your ticket into the Tesla Supercharger network, which is by far the largest fast-charging network out there.
Short version: J1772 covers the widest range of existing public chargers today, J3400 gets you into the biggest and fastest-growing network including Superchargers. We can build either port into your Jeep — talk to your build advisor about how and where you actually plan to charge and we'll point you at the right one.
You're not locked in at order time, either. There's a plug located right behind the connector itself, so you can order with J1772 or J3400 up front, and swap to the other one down the road if your charging habits change — no need to redo the whole setup.
For reference, that third one is CCS1 — the DC fast-charging standard used by a lot of other EVs. It's not something we run on our conversions, so if you see it at a charger, keep on driving to the next stall.
It depends on the platform and how full our queue is at the time — CJ and YJ builds move differently than TJ builds, and it changes as we take on more bays. We'll give you a real, current estimate for your specific Jeep when you get a quote, not a generic number that's out of date by the time you read it.
Right now, that's running close to 4 months from deposit to delivery. We're a small, deliberate shop, and demand has grown faster than our bay capacity. We're working to get that down to under a month as we scale up — but until then, plan around 4 months for a CJ, YJ, or TJ build.
Stereo, lights, switches, and most other 12V accessories — yes, easily. Your Jeep's 12V accessory circuit stays intact, so anything that would bolt onto a stock Jeep bolts on here the same way.
Standard 12V winches are the same story — straightforward, plug-and-play with the factory-style wiring.
Where it gets more involved is a winch actually matched to the EV system's higher voltage. A genuine off-the-shelf unit for that doesn't exist yet — it means either working with a manufacturer to spec one, or having an existing winch motor rewound. That's real engineering, not a drop-in swap. Tell your build advisor what you're planning and we'll give you a straight answer on what's simple and what's a project.
Clinical trials are, let's say, ongoing. What we can confirm: instant torque, silent creep mode, and never smelling like a gas station again. Reports of increased parking-lot compliments are anecdotal and have not been peer reviewed.
